LeadInspire
Client need
LeadInspire and author Tina Gaarn Christensen sought to visually support their two books: What if your colleague was a golden shovel – A guide to community, focus, and trustworthy teams and Succeed with Self-Managing Teams – One Step at a Time) with illustrations that could make abstract leadership concepts more tangible and engaging. The illustrations needed to work across formats: in print and for digital presentations, workbooks, and on social media. A smooth, collaborative process with room for iterations and feedback was essential.
Solution
I created illustrations that complemented the tone and message of the books, but more importantly, helped clarify complex metaphors and ideas. We worked in close dialogue through multiple iterations, from initial sketches to polished digital artwork. The process was built on trust, responsiveness, and a shared focus on creating visuals that both looked good and communicated clearly.
Results
The illustrations were well received and are now used across formats – in the books themselves, in presentations, and promotional materials. They help capture the reader’s attention and reinforce key messages about leadership and collaboration. The process also showed how a visual, iterative approach can add value in creative development.

The illustrations helped elevate the messages in the books. They make the ideas more concrete and inspiring, and working with Silja was easy and reassuring
